This is the main cast, over the course of the history of the comic the main cast has fluctuated wildly but if you were to check out a comic at random you would most likely see one of these three people. Sam is obviously the hero of the story but as with all heroes he occasionally needs a cohort or sidekick for his zany adventures.

Ahh, supporting cast, where would the comic be with out you? Probably on the "Top Ten Greatest Things Ever Created by Man" list but no one is going to hold it against you. These people span the huge range of former roommates, coworkers, people I went to concerts with, that guy that you constantly kick around, and general doesn't fit into any of the above categories level friends.
